Damon's last day of school was last week. Mrs Israelsen has been the most amazing teacher and such a sweet person to Damon. I was so worried when we moved to Kaysville last August and registered him with only a week before school started. I didn't know any of the teachers and was so stressed that it would be a rough transition with everything going on. But not so. So grateful for wonderful teachers and people who are great role models and examples for my children.
And this guy. My boss gave me a gift card so we went out. Nothing better than spending time with my love.
So grateful to my mom. She is an amazing cook and always made our meals from scratch. I didn't know what a huge impact that would have on me until I was in charge of my own family. Good habits make it so much easier to keep with them. One thing I didn't make at home before I was married was bread. My sisters all did, I guess I just skipped out on it. So now having gone back and learned from her I am even more thankful for what a truly talented and amazing person my mother is. Most importantly her and my dad taught us about the gospel. Not just by words but by example.
When Lyla was born I secretly hoped she would have curly hair. It didn't seem like she would at first. But as it has gotten longer the curls are coming out! One thing she got from me. Beautiful girl.
My view from about 4 am on. I work on the top floor of Lakeview Hospital on their Ortho/Spine department. I have the most amazing view of the Bountiful temple in the early morning hours when most are still asleep. Nights are rough sometimes but it sure gives me time to contemplate life and the gospel in periods with little distraction. I work two 12 hour shifts a week, 6 pm-6 am.
Chris has been so sweet. Every week he worked out to take us to his grandparents pool to let the kids swim. I know this has had a huge impact on them both! They really didn't like water or swimming until this year. Now we can't get them out of the pool! Thanks Chris and Brookie! Love you guys.
And as an extra bonus-he treats the kids to snow cones. Lucky ducks.
