A Done Deal

Well, after clearing out our entire savings (just kidding, but it felt like it) our tickets have been purchased. Flying to China during peak season, and adding all the Olympic hype, you can imagine it gets pretty expensive. Luckily my expenses will be reimbursed, and we only had to pay a little (comparatively) for Damon, so we'll only be out Charise's fare- which we will make up working over there. So this really is the best opportunity for us to get over there.

Our departure date is July 21. We'll fly to Hong Kong first and stay a week there, then fly to Beijing. We'll fly back to Hong Kong on December 8, spend another week there, then come home on December 15. I'm sure you all can imagine that I'm pretty excited. Actually, I haven't been able to sleep well since we got the internship offer. Every night I've just been going over in my mind all the things I want to show Reese and Damon and all the people I want them to meet. To be honest, I think Reese hasn't slept well since the offer either, but for different reasons.

We love all of you and will miss you, but this could be a defining moment for our future. All of you are welcome to come visit (but wait until after peak season). We'll continue to keep everyone posted on moving dates and things like that. We hope that we'll get time to spend with all of you before we go.

Stinky Feet

Well, no new real news right now. Still working on getting passports and visas. If everything goes as planned, we'll probably head out about mid-July, but we'll have to see.
Damon is growing and getting cuter by the day. He has such a fun personality.

China, Here We Come

Well, we just got work today that we were offered an internship with the electronics company LG this summer/fall in Tianjin China. As you all know, we were pretty sad about not getting into the Chinese flagship program, but it looks like this might be an even better opportunity for us. They have been very accomodating with us so far. They said we can decide when to come and when to come home, we just have to let them know so they can arrange it for us. They will pay my airfare and provide us with housing, plus give us a monthly stipend too. We will still have to pay for Reese's plane ticket, but we should still come out on top considering we won't pay rent. LG is a huge company, so this internship should also look very impressive on my resume. We feel particularly blessed with this wonderful opportunity.
We'll be busy getting passports, visas, immunizations, and everything else ready. If we can get everything ready soon enough, I think we'll try to get over there before the olympics so that we can be there for that. We're also hoping to stop for a week or so in Hong Kong.
Other than that, all is well. School and work are fine, but we particularly enjoy our time together with Damon.
Can't wait to see all of you this Sunday as we show our amazing mother how much we really appreciate and love her.
I know most of you just look at our blog to see Damon, so I won't disappoint you.

Happy Weekend

Well, we had a great time visiting family this last weekend. First we had a great Chinese dinner at Grandma Johnson's with all of the family. The next day we watched Aubrey, Brooklyn, Cambria, Bruce and Breanne sing in church. They did great. Then on Monday we had a yummy B-B-Q at the Bitter's. We had a fun time with all of the family. We tried to upload these video's since Monday, but for some reason it wasn't working. Today it finally worked.
